Other ways to get there
Songthaew: a Naklua-bound songthaew (baht bus) up Beach Road or Second Road costs about ฿10–40. Get off on Naklua Road at Soi Naklua 12 and walk 1.5–2 km down the soi to the sea, with little shade, or take a motorbike taxi for about ฿30–50.
Car or scooter: follow Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) to Naklua, turn left onto Naklua Road and right into Soi Naklua 12. Parking at the sanctuary is free.
From Bangkok: 149 km, about 2 hours by car on Motorway 7. Buses from Ekkamai stop at Wat Sawang Fa, and buses from Mo Chit 2 at the North Pattaya bus terminal; from either, take a motorbike taxi or a minibus to Soi Naklua 12. The easiest option is a day tour from Bangkok that also takes in Nong Nooch Tropical Garden.
Getting back: taxi drivers at the site sometimes stop Grab and Bolt drivers from picking up, so arrange the ride back in advance: ask your driver to wait or to return at a set time.
